Sarnia’s fire service overtime continues to spike

Oct. 30, 2018, Sarnia, Ont. – Overtime in Sarnia’s fire service continues to have a big impact on the city’s financials. Projections are $1.1 million will be paid out by end of December, mostly to cover shift requirements as several firefighters have been off on extended leave for workplace-incurred injuries and illnesses, said Fire Chief John Kingyens.
