Aug. 30, 2017, Thunder Bay, Ont. – The City of Thunder Bay says an interest arbitration ruling on a three-year collective agreement with the Thunder Bay Firefighters Association, awarded Tuesday, will add to the increasing costs of providing tax-supported emergency services to the public. The city said in a press release firefighters have been awarded wage increases of 2.39 per cent for 2015, 2.27 per cent for 2016 and 2.27 per cent this year, moving firefighter salaries just ahead of city police.
