Sudbury firefighters awarded new contract

Aug. 23, 2017, Sudbury, Ont. – As a result of an arbitration award, professional firefighters in Greater Sudbury have won significant pay raises. In a contract that covers Jan. 1, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2017, Local 527 of the Sudbury Professional Fire Fighters successfully argued the salaries of their members should not be tied only to those earned by Greater Sudbury Police.
